chris brann delivers a superior vocal tech release for washingtons infamous yoshitoshi. superb in construction as only he can offer, this ep contains the beautiful original as well as a haunted remix from philip charles. saturated in silky electronic elegance, the vocals of delilah johnson simply float over the surface of the record on a backdrop of minimalhouse beats and nuances of a trumpet solo. hot.

inspired by the riz ortolani soundtrack for the girl in the yellow pyjamas hot ring bounces around like pamela andersons front end whilst running up and down malibu beach. sharp stabs and spooky synths lines put this straight in modern electronic disco box. things go even dirtier and deeper with bottins stripped down espresso dub version which feels precisely like a double caffeine punch that will kickstart any stagnating dancefloor. 2020 soundsystem and redux main man fernando then comes up with lovely remix where he adds his signature dubbed out punky sound to the ep.

minz aka michel sanchez-infante, is a dj, producer and live performer from the netherlands. after producing for a few years, his productions caught the attention of ripperton in may 2007. ripperton released minz debut >un/mute ep< and the follow-up >jade ep< on his perspectiv label. both were well received and followed by a string of remixes on labels like connaisseur, suruba and 2pin, and compilation tracks for meerestief and perspectiv. after taking some time out to work on his sound, minz is getting back up to speed with releases for suruba x and now for ransom note. his style is slowly shifting to a more housey and organic sound, while keeping the deepness, thoughtful composition and meticulous attention to detail. tracks like ganzfeld demonstrate how minz has the ability to create outstanding productions that grow slowly on you before knocking you off your feet. on remix duties is the illustrious lee jones. hot off his brilliant ep on cityfox, lee blesses ransom note with his indelible take on electronic music. as deep as it gets and with a powerful exploration of the original, lees remix of ganzfeld is stunning journey sure to set off the after party in all of us.

after releasing milestone eps between 2007 and 2008 on pheeks archipel imprint, immigrant and their home label, cynosure, the uruguayan duo monoblock completed a great 2009. inaugurating the spanish une label during the summer with their introduktion ep, monoblock also released intensiones, their third record on mike shannons cynosure. recent berlin implants, by way of valencia, monoblock start off 2010 right with a superbly executed whole artist ep on airdrop records. bringing together three tracks of very different moods, the shouting nonsense ep reflects the richness and diversity of electronic concepts covered by monoblock. going from the most rousing and bouncey tech house in shouting nonsense to the more stripped environment of cienpies and passing through the use of live instruments in calid.

the spaniard manuel fernandez llorente had a classical musical upbringing, studying at the music conservatorium in madrid. he has been composing and producing electronic music since 1996, not only releasing on his own label >7noise< but more importantly also being licensed for various major compilations. now he is releasing his first tracks on highgrade records. at first, >addiction< unspectacularly plods on towards house heaven, but then the sparse vocals and timeless organ sounds give you a warm and soft electro shock. the first track on the b side >the gull< shows off prompts talents as a composer. a very discreet melody blankets the straight beat, taking away the coldness of the bass. a beautiful dream track that should never really end. >mechanic< brings it home and is right in your face, a journey into minimal techno country, where you meet the sound ghosts that prompt has summoned. a single drum beat here, a voice there and a now and again a sound shred that are all meticulously arranged to make the perfect atmosphere.
